Hey,
I just wanted to shoot you a quick note to let you know that I’m ending my experiment - publishing a fictional story every weekday - a couple weeks early.
There have been some big shifts in my family lately, and I need some of the hours back that I’ve been spending writing (the stories take up three to five hours every day).
The affirmation I shared a few weeks ago about a reader respecting my “integrity to my word” has stuck with me, and there’s a way in which ending the experiment early is a break in that integrity. The only way I can justify this to myself is that sometimes we have to break one promise to in order to uphold a greater one - such as mine to protect the wellbeing of my family.
This experiment has been literally the most fun I’ve ever had “working,” and I have learned a shitload about writing and about myself in the process. I’ve developed a rock-solid writing habit and the confidence to write a book. Which I’ve already begun.
I will spend the next week or so rethinking the next iteration of this newsletter and send you something soon.
As always, thanks for reading.
-Michael
I didn't read all of them, but I remained inspired to see you hold yourself to your word and ship something daily. Props my man! Excited to see what this experiment leads to!
It's been fun to follow along! Being open and honest about how life can make plans for you while you think you're making plans for yourself isn't easy. Looking forward to more when the time comes!🤘🏻🤙🏻⚡️
